What is a 203k?
The 203k program is an FHA loan designed to get you the money you need to renovate or remodel that home you're looking at buying. You can also remodel your existing home. If you want all the specific details, go here.
The lenders that participate in this program won't let you do the loan without an independent consultant. Remember, its a government loan so the rules are convoluted, confusing and cumbersome!!
My job as the 203k Consultant is to inspect the property, generate the paperwork, and guide you, (and usually the loan officer), through the process, making it as smooth and painless as possible.
